It was around noon and Talan was waiting to meet Destiny. They had been on a few dates, but nothing was exclusive yet. At least, he didn’t think it was. If she thought it was she would have to be a little clearer on that because he hadn’t been behaving as somebody who was exclusive. If they ever made things exclusive, he was loyal to a fault. That was something a lot of his ex-girlfriends didn’t understand. They just didn’t believe he could get around so much and then be so faithful. He was fairly certain they were on the same page for now. So far, he really liked her. She was a great girl and he could see them dating regularly as a couple. From there, he wasn’t too sure. There were a lot of things about him she would need to know and accept.
One of those things was his past. Some people just really never were ok with it. He couldn’t blame them really. It was a past that he was truly ashamed of and he would probably never forgive himself for it. There had been a long period of time that he was constantly broody about it all. He just had a lot of regrets and if his father hadn’t been the well connected business man that he was, Talan wouldn’t be here today. He’d probably be bartending and living off his Dad’s money. In a way, he was doing that now, but at least the money from the club he had earned. He was doing all the work. Soon enough, the club would be all his.
Taking a quick look at his Rolex, one of the only expensive things he allowed himself to indulge in buying, he figured she should be there any minute. He was always very punctual and tended to arrive at places early. In his opinion, it was a sign of respect, and besides, it was just common courtesy. He never actually minded if a girl was late, but he made it a point for himself to be on time.
He thought over some of the other things she didn’t know about him. For instance, his club life. As the owner of a club, a lot of opportunities presented themselves to him. The biggest one she could have a problem would be the women. He was known for entertaining the ladies on a regular basis. That putting it lightly. He was no cheater though. Hopefully she could come to trust him and she wouldn’t think he was running around on her all the time. He certainly wouldn’t be f he knew he had a girl. Besides the fact that he cared to much about her, it wasn’t who he was. To say otherwise, which people often did, was undermining his character and it was really irritating because it just upset him to say he would do something like cheat.
He decided to take a seat at a bench. He was wearing simple denim jeans with his Nike sneakers and a long sleeved white t-shirt with a nice blue t-shirt over that by Ice Cream that said Billionaire Boys Club. It was a ridiculously expensive shirt. One of the only other things he allowed himself to spend good money on. It was a clothing line by Pharrel Williams. He wouldn’t have spent so much money on it, but he actually liked the clothes. It wasn’t really about the name for him.
Leaning back, he rested one hand in his lap and the other on the back of the bench. He was looking forward to seeing Destiny again. How many times had he thought that in the past few minutes? He grinned to himself. That was usually a good sign. It was weird for him that they hadn’t even kissed yet, but somehow it was sweet. Maybe he would kiss her today. It all depended on her. He never did something he wasn’t 100% sure was wanted. So far, he was being a complete gentleman about it, and he would continue to do so until she kissed him, or he thought maybe she was ready for that. He gave his head a shake and looked up at the clouds. He really did need to stop thinking so much.
