Alayna was finally free. Out of the hospital at last. The first thing that Alayna did was go home and played with her puppy for over an hour. She was still in pain somewhat though Alayna wore longsleeved shirts and blue jeans to hide most of the injuries the only ones visible were the black eyes, a cut on her forhead, and her busted lip. Alayna hadnt told Talan what had happened because she was rather scared of what he would do. She had been in the hospital for over a week and that even was FAR to long for her. Alayna had a free spirit and wished to remain free. Talan knew that. He was the one true person she had told everything to. Besides Sydney of course. Alayna trusted Talan with her life when it came to it. It brought back painful memories of her past when she thought about that. Talan was definetely not one of those mistakes though she had made many. Talan was her true friend and Alayna knew that she would be able to turn to Talan for anything. She trusted him beyond anything. Parking her large King Ranch F-150 in the parking lot of his club she knew she definetely had to catch up. Though a club was definetely the place for her to be right now for she had a dreadful headache. But she knew that she would be able to find Talan here. Talan was always at the club, that was what had ended their relationship in the first place. All he wanted was to be with the club and Alayna didnt blame him. Though he had told her that he was going to be a daddy so apparently he had changed a little since the last time she had talked to him. She was very happy for him though.
Walking into the club her head was immediately pounding from the loud base of the music and the lights just made everything even worse. Though she knew there were some small booths that she & Talan could go to where it would drown out the noise and a curtain could block out the lights. Pushing her way through the crowd Alayna finally managed to get to the bar and yell for a bartender. Tell Talan that Alayna is here to see him. I'll be in that booth over there. She poined over towards the booth and then she walked towards it before he could ask about her face. She had allready answered enough questions but she knew allot more would come from Talan whenever he shows up. Oh how she had missed him. Alayba was so proud of Talan that she couldnt even explain it. Sitting on the booth she gladly shut the curtains and rubbed her aching and cut up forhead. Sitting there for a few moments the bartender came to her and asked if she wanted anything to drink. Shaking her head she was like Oh no.. She was in no condition to start drinking, especially with the drugs she was taking. She would be out cold in seconds and wouldnt wake up until a month later.

Talan had been out with Destiny that night and left one of his workers in charge. He was really needing to hire a manager so that he could have somebody to rely on fully to take care of the club for him. He was so excited about being a father, everybody at work had known something had happened when they’d seen him. He was just beaming all the time, practically giddy. Everybody at work had been thoroughly surprised at his news. Or, rather that he was so happy about. It didn’t surprise them he had gotten her pregnant. They had often heard her when they had their romps in his office. They never said much about it. Though, occasionally someone would crack a joke about it. He never minded. That’s what you get for doing that in the work place. The point was though, nobody thought Talan was the type to like children. He actually made it a point to have people think that about him. He just liked pretending he thought they were dirty little creatures, when really, they were the most precious things in the world to him.
He was stopping in to just grab a couple of things from his place. With his sneakers on, dark blue jeans, a charcoal grey, cashmere v-neck sweater, underneath a leather couture blazer, he made his way into the club. Of course the bouncers let him right in. They had said hello, and whatnot. Since they were kind of his friends. He took a quick look over everything to make sure things were running smoothly, and he as he passed the end of the bar to make his way into the door that led to his office, one of his bartenders came over and stopped him. “There is a girl named Alayna waiting for you in that booth over there,” they told him, gesturing in the direction of the booth. He glanced over and back to the bartender. “Alright, thank you.”
Instead of going into his office to get his things like he had planned, he made his way to through the dancing people who were all having a wonderful time, which made him smile. He pulled back the curtain and frowned when he saw the condition she was in. He slid in next to her, closing the curtain and his arm moved to the back of the seat behind her, while his other hand move to the side of her face so very gently turning her face to him. As he had taken his seat in this way, he asked, “Who did this to you?”
There was a slight chill to his voice while at the same time he was so very gentle with her. Very few people ever got to see Talan when he was truly angered. There really was not an in between for him. It was mostly one extreme to the other. Yes, he got mad not and then, but most of the time, it was either the Talan everybody knows, or there was the very rare furious Talan. When things happened that made him that way, he looked kind of scary, unless you knew him and knew you were safe for that reason. He got this look in his eye, and it was such a cold fury it could ice the windows of an entire building. That’s putting it lightly. What were the things that put him over the edge? Well, it was abuse of any kind really. Mostly with women. Rape was probably the biggest. Now one of his closest most loved friends had been hurt, and he was pissed.

Alayna had been sitting there for about thirty minutes before she finally saw Talan come through the curtain. The look on his face whenever he was pissed always had frightened her but she knew that she was safe with him. He would never hurt her and she knew that. But just the look on his face made her break down and realize what exactly she had been through. Tears began rolling down her rosy and bruised cheeks as she felt his gentle touch on her chin turning her head towards him so he could see the extent of the damage. Little did he know that there were allot worse wounds underneath the bundles of clothes she was wearing. Talan Im allright..I came to talk to you, but if your busy then I'll come back later. She honestly had come to talk about the fact that he was going to be a father and just to flat out catch up on things for she didnt want to talk about the mugging. Tears were rolling down her chin a pain in her gut starting to arise. Trying to change the subject she smiled and raised her hand, which was covered in blood blisters from her punching the men, painfully to wipe away her tears. How excited are you about being a father? And when am I going to meet this Destiny? She smiled as she gently pushed away his hand and looked away from him. She was ashamed of what she had been through and Talan should know as well as anyone that she was very good at hiding her true feelings and above all she wished not to talk about her accident but evitually she would break down and tell him the whole story it was just to painful.

Talan and Alayna hadn’t gone out for a great deal of time, about three months or so once they had decided to really date each other, but they had been special to each other. Not that deep kind of love, but they had loved each other. Who knows where they would be today if they hadn’t been so busy in that time of their life. He hadn’t mean to be so busy with the club, making it seem like he had loved it more. It had just been really important for him to work very hard if he wanted to prove he could handle it and do a great job. It had been a couple years, but his club was one of the hottest clubs in LA now. Not that it was crap before, it was just even better now. Things worked out though. They were now just really great friends who knew everything about each other. She even knew his past and he trusted her to keep that secret. He hadn’t told her about it while they had been together, but sometime after they had decided to just be friends.
In all their time of knowing each other, she had probably seen he angry side only once. Two times at the most. The one incident he can remember was when some guy was getting fresh with a girl in a booth. He seemed to think he could do as he please with her, and she hadn’t wanted him, but he would leave her alone and Talan went over to stop him. When he saw the guy strike the girl, that was when Alayna had seen Talan go off. He never looked like the same person when that happened because you just never expect to see Talan so angry. He had pulled the guy off her without a word, and a normally very nonviolent Talan proceeded to throw the guy on the ground. He lifted him, and punched him in the gut several times, and dragged the man outside where he tossed him against a car and started punching his face in, breaking his nose, a couple times. If his bouncers hadn’t got control of him, he probably would have killed the man by accident. He was lucky he hadn’t already from hitting the man’s nose so many times. He easily could have accidentally cause it to go back into his brain.
Talan did his best to bury his anger so that he could show her nothing but his gentleness. “I’m never to busy for you babe, you know that,” he managed a smile. Too bad that hadn’t been true back when they had dated. “Tell me who did this. I’ll make sure they are arrested and pay for it,” he said gently as a horrible thought came over him, and his concern deepened, “They didn’t… touch you, did they?” He sincerely hoped not. Knowing Talan, he would find someway to blame himself for it, as if he should have somehow known and been there to protect her. It was one of his worst habits. He always found a way to blame himself.
“Come on,” he said, standing and gently tugging her to follow, “Let’s go in my place where it is quieter and more comfortable.” He led her to the door to his office and opened it to let her in. Following her inside, he then went to the door on the far left side of the room and opened it as well for her, following her inside and closing the door behind him.

Alayna just couldnt help it. Tears began rolling down her pretty rosy, but bruised up cheeks. She had only seen Talan this angry once and now this was her second. They had been good friends once. Alayna knew that she could confine in Talan whenever anything was needed. She trusted him beyond anyone else. What if they both hadnt been so busy what would've happened? Would she be the one pregnant or would he still have gone for Destiny? This was the question that she had asked herself for many years. Though they were still the best of friends it just wasnt the same as it was back in the old days. Though now Alayna couldnt see him as anything but an older brother. He would always be there to protect her and she knew it. She was going to make a comment on his first comment but thought against it. The suddenly she recognized the look on her face. Dont blame yourself Talan! Not everything is your fault! She shook her head tears still streaming down her delicate face. Nodding Alayna stood up rather stifly holding her gut for that was what hurt the worse. Following him through the crowd she sort of roughly for she didnt want to get bumped any more than she had to. Walking into Talan's office right behind him she sat in one of the VERY comfortable chairs and was very happy that he had them. Every part of her ached. I dont know who did it Talan, but Andy is hunting them down I promise you he will find them. At his second question her whole body quivered at the thought. What if they had raped her? What would've happened them. No they didnt get the chance. Hearing herself say that word brought a smile to her face. A truly sincere one that she hadnt really smiled in a long time. You weren't my knight in shining armor that night but someone else was. His name is Chance. Another smile lit across her face her bruised cheeks blushing and the tears stopped falling. It was plain and clear what she thought of Chance. She was beginning to like him.
