The golden globe loomed large within the cyan backdrop, a few winged creatures soaring just below the luminous alabaster clouds. The grains of sand holding a brilliant brillion hue, shifting to the demanding weight of those who paraded upon it. A salted breeze combing the sunbathers, teasing their forlescent locks. The dull roar of the waves dimming the cries of a few frolicking dogs who jumped ahead of the owners.
Slender, diminutive figurine lay still upon her blue and white striped beach towel. Her skin needing no attention from the sun as it was already tanned, but this came from her Italian heritage. Deep mocha locks splattered across the pattern of the fabric, as she lay upon her back. Eyes closed gingerly, large black sunglasses shielding them from the terror of the sun's rays. Full coral lips slightly parted as a sigh escaped her lungs for a moment. Jocelyn's mind held no steady thought, but rather bounced from topic to topic. Sometimes she held full, silent, conversations in her own mind, breaking away the interminable hours she spent alone.
Voids fluttered open, arms sliding across the towel as she propped herself up on her elbow. Her view catching upon a duo of boys as they cruised down the shoreline, surfboards in tow. A vivacious smile pulled at the corner of her lips, teeth showing in a flirtatious smirk. She gave herself a roll of the eyes, scorning herself for her 'naughty' behavior. Attention was then quickly drawn to the side, checking her cell phone for the time. Late afternoon, she had been here for quite some time. Sliding her phone into her bag she sat up completely, filing through her suntan lotion for a moment.
View was draped across the scenery, so many faces, yet none familiar. Ah, to the new girl in town was quite a hard position, but she knew she couldn't be the only one. Companionship was hard to comeby in this town, and she figured she wouldn't try for awhile. Well, unless somebody came along that caught her eye, but that's beside the point.
She looked to the sand quickly, muttering at herself for being so secluded. She was a very outgoing person, but people here weren't too welcoming. Eyes slowly drifted back the people surrounding, as she now sat up, putting her belongings into her over-sized bag.
"Well, this was all useless. It's not like I even need the tan."
She cooed quietly to herself.
For several days now the only conversation she was with either with horse, with friends through email, or herself.
