» It seemed like only yesterday that Aeron had only just met Ryan Neilson. Her thoughts were all upon him the next several months. She kept bumping into him at times and several times spent time together at her place or his, but it was nothing more than a good night kiss for each of them and that was that. Aeron was abut 9 months with Andy's baby. She hid the thoughts of Andy in the back of her mind during these months that passed and she tried to forget about him, but she just couldn't let the thought of him leave her mind, ever, it seemed. Today was a nice day of spring in City of Angels. The city was just as busy as ever, getting ready for the busling summer tourists and whatnot. The sun was shining and the clouds were playing with one another (so to say) and the sky was as blue as the Caribbean sea. Aeron was at the hospital today. She had been feeling out of it the whole night and then it finally happened this morning and so, here was Aeron, making her way into the hospital by herself as heavily expectant as she was.
» She had thought of two names. If the baby was a girl she would named her Alison Scarlett-Saffron and if it was a boy then she would name him Jackson River-Riley. She was all set. Eventually, a nurse had come over to her and ended up taking her into the delivery room where everything was being prepared and whatnot. Through the pain and agony, though, she made a call to Ryan, not even catching him on his cell phone, but leaving a urgent, painful message for him telling him she wanted him there and that she loved him and that. Soon, everything was ready and everything was about to begin. So much commotion was in the room at the time. Sweat beaded across her forehead, her brunette locks were drenched in the sweat that she had and her hair was actually rather messy at that. The doctor in the room was trying to encourage her to push, but she refused so much, it was so painful for her that she just couldn't. She closed her eyes carefully for a few moments, her hands grasped the sides of the bed as a painful scream entered the air as she tried to push, though it seemed like nothing was helping, but the doctor said she was doing fine and good at that.
» She leaned back for a moment to give herself a breather. Her eyes glanced over at the door for a moment as the door swung opened. The words were traced across her lips as the pain ran through her. The words that meant I need you...I love you...

So maybe he was in over his head. It was quite a possibility. Fallen head over heels. Completely taken. But it was all something he couldn’t help. Aeron was amazing, and he… Well, it was hard to explain anything he felt at the moment. He just let himself grin as he walked to his locker, ready to pack up and head home. The thought of her always managed to make him smile. It was silly, he knew, and it made him feel like a giddy kid in high school. But she always managed to make him feel that way. And she managed to make him think that feeling that way was great, not immature.
He twisted the lock this way and that, meeting each number of his combination. He reached in for his blue Jansport backpack—the one he took everywhere with him—but instead pulled out his cell phone, staring intently at the little envelope icon on the screen. After listening to Aeron’s pained voice, he shoved his things back into the metal receptacle, and took off at a run towards the maternity ward. He hadn’t bothered to see when she’d left the message. He knew he had to get there as quickly as possible, and to him that was all that mattered.
Funny, how everyone always seemed to be in a rush. There never seemed to be enough time in a day for anyone to be satisfied, and so each and every person tried to do as much as possible in that short amount of time. They were always running places, never stopping to wonder what they’d missed in their blind dash. Other doctors as well as interns and nurses stepped out of his way as he rushed through the halls, and he then checked his speed. The last thing he needed was to run into anyone and hinder himself. So he chose a fast walk to transport him to her room, and, upon arrival, he noticed his hand shake as he gripped the cool metallic handle on her door. He’d seen many a birth in this hospital, but none had ever made him as nervous as this. He closed his eyes, breathing deeply before calmly opening the door. Blue eyes found hers as he brushed past the cluster of nurses that stood behind the obstetrician.
He lay his hand gently upon hers, the look in his eyes saying more than any words he could muster could. He wanted to be here to support her, as he’d seen so many women without anyone in the room with them, alone and scared. He refused to allow her to be one of them, even if the child was not his. It made no difference in his mind who the father was, only that he should be there no matter what. Being alone was perhaps one of the worst feelings, and at times like these, no one should be alone.
I'm here, he said quietly. You can do this. I know you can. He felt rather useless, sitting there, but he figured the least he could do was utter a few words of support.

» The words that were spoken were meaningful. Something that Aeron had never had before, the meaningfulness of such words. She listened as best she could and that words that filled her ears were what she thought as the most meaningful. She would have tried to kiss him, but she couldn't reach to him and she wasn't to move from her position quite yet. Keep Holding On was a song that Aeron remembered from a little while ago, probably about a month ago to be exact. It was something that had caught Aeron by the ears when she listened to the song by Avril Lavinge. It actually seemed to really fit the situation at the moment as it was. Everything was just so dramatic at the moment that it wasn't funny one bit.
» Aeron breathed in and out a couple times, taking her hand as Ryan had placed his hand upon hers and grasping it shakily. She had never felt this feeling before, the feeling of something new, something new and exciting just about to begin and to have someone she could trust by her side at that. She knew that Ryan had the feelings for her, but she could never tell if he was true to his word until now. She put her chin to her chest as the nurses instructed and she pushed as best she could for five seconds before she about gave up. She leaned her head back once more, closing her eyes and then opening her eyes to see Ryan's electric blue ones at her. It took atleast another fifteen minutes before there was enough progress. The doctor tried to encourage her, but she couldn't listen to it, though she listened to everything that Ryan said. It was practically the only thing she could even possibly think of. She gave it a couple more tries before the room fell silent for the moment and childish screams filled the room. The pain left Aeron mostly, except for the soreness she would probably have for a week or two. She leaned her head back on the pillow in relief as a smile formed across her lips. The doctor announced proudly that the baby was a boy and Aeron gently whispered enough for Ryan to hear. "Jackson River-Riley Cohen...Jack..." she whispered gently, just for Ryan to hear. The commotion became more in the room for awhile as Aeron was getting cleaned up and whatnot. It took about fifteen to twenty-five minutes. Nurses helped Aeron get propped up and they handed her her baby...the one she had waited nearly 9 months for and was finally her...Jackson.
» Aeron looked at her sweet baby boy and then she looked up at Ryan lovingly. Jackson was wrapped in a blue blanket and a baby blue newborn's hat on his delicate little head. Aeron had that motherly instinct as she tried to hold him rightly, but because of just getting into physical therapy for her arm and that, her one arm was weak and his head was lower than it should have. Aeron spoke gently to Ryan as everything became more quiet and the nurses left them and Jackson to be alone in private for awhile. Aeron couldn't help but cry a little, she was so happy at the moment it was unbelievable. Jackson had blue eyes like his mother and the patches of brown hair like his mother also. He was almost like a mini Aeron, but just only a boy. She looked from Jackson to Ryan as she spoke words to them. "I love you two so much...you two make me feel so complete..." she spoke softly to them, even though Jackson was asleep now, but Ryan still seemed awake, she knew that Ryan must have heard what she said.

Ryan had been through a good bit of fear in his life. Different times had brought on different types and intensities of fear. But sitting next to Aeron in that hospital room, he felt so much fear he thought his heart might burst. His heart seemed to pound out of his chest, and he felt a slight diziness. It was silly, to be so scared, but he was concerned. Yet, he was able to push it all away, and sit calmly next to her, looking down occasionally to offer a grin of support. He couldn't make any more words come out of his mouth, and felt rather speechless. But the whole event was so... He just couldn't find anything worthy of the moment.
Her screams pained him, as it was a pain he couldn't make better. There was nothing worse than hearing someone you cared about in pain, when there was nothing you could do to make it stop. He felt a flare of anger, thinking of the man who'd left her alone in the middle of her pregnancy, wondering what would happen should he ever meet this 'boyfriend.' He would have a good deal of trouble keeping his fists to himself, to say the least. And when he heard the sounds of life as Aeron pushed the baby into life, he felt a surge of unusual pride. It was a silly feeling to feel, but he figured it was directed towards Aeron, for the fact that she had been so strong. He could hardly imagine what it would be like to go through it all alone. He was glad he was there.
Her words brought him out of his musings and he just smiled at her. It was a lovely name, and he gave her hand a gentle squeeze before she took the little boy in her arms. Her next words reached his ears, and his face softened. I can't think of any place I'd rather be, he told her softly, his heart swelling with her words. It was perhaps the most meaningful phrase he'd heard in his entire life, and he'd remember it for as long as he lived. Most would think he was exaggerating, but he was not at all. He watched the two together, Jackson an exact replica of his mother. Ryan hoped, deep in his heart, he'd be able to watch the little boy grow, teach him, be with him and his mother for as long as possible.

» It seemed like everything was finally in order now. The silence was in order and the world just seemed to slow down for once. Aeron seemed to miss everyone when the world just turned fast and there was no time for relaxation and stopping for a minute to rewind and listen to what she said nearly seconds before. Aeron gave a small sigh of relief as she laid there, propped up in the bed. She slipped her stronger arm under Jackson's backtoward his head hoping it would give him more support. Aeron moved her weaker arm under the back of his neck, gently. She reached her weaker arm's hand over his moving chest, giving him a small and gentle massage on him. Aeron couldn't help but adore him. She had made this little person, her and Andy, it was unbelievable to Aeron.
» The soft whisper of the evening breeze was there. Aeron watched carefully as a nurse came in to take Jackson to the nursery with the other newborns. Aeron didn't want to let go of Jackson, but she had to for the night. She'd see him tomorrow. The nurse took hold of Jackson and bid good night to them and left. Aeron felt so empty without Jackson at the moment, though she'd be feeling it tomorrow with all the soreness. "Ryan, please don't go. I want you to stay." she begged him. She straightened up and turned herself so her feet were dangling off the side of the bed, facing Ryan. The gorgeous dull green ankle bracelet with a small star charm on it was on her left foot at the time. She looked up to Ryan and slowly got up, wincing slightly with the soreness, barely able to keep herself up, she wrapped her arms around Ryan, letting her lips move into a slow and dazzlingly passionate kiss, probably the best kiss she'd ever gave. It lasted for quite a bit, Aeron ending up sitting on the bed as she kissed him, her one hand on his cheek, her other caught in his one hand. She suddeny let go with the sound of her doctor entering the room. It was like she was a kid again as the doctor told her she needed her rest and to go to bed now. Aeron rolled her eyes once the doctor left the room. She looked up at Ryan once more with that convincing nod and short little innocent smile of hers. Then, she gave her serious look as she spoke to Ryan. "I don't think I'll have to feel that pain I did anymore with you. I definately sure about it. I know it." she said with a gentle smile as she laid back on her pillow on the bed now, the covers over her.
» Several days passed before it was time to go home. Aeron had learned as much as she possibly could and she learned that patience was also a virtue and life is tough, but Aeron had known that already of course. Finally, it was time to bring it all home, though she wondered if she'd need to call her best friend Julia up and have her drive her to her apartment or maybe Ryan would offer. She wasn't exactly sure. Right now, she sat on the edge of her bed, holding Jackson in her arms, a nurse showing her how to properly hold him and whatnot. Aeron was dressed in her blue jeans and a loose pink t-shirt. She began talking to Jackson just right away. She'd gotten to know him pretty well during the three days. "Hey, sweet boy." she said softly to Jackson as she sat there. She had grown to learn that Jackson hated being left alone, probably one of the best things Aeron learned about him. Aeron got to meet other new parents also, learning tricks of the trades, listening to their stories and whatnot. Aeron had been so happy since Jackson was born.
